I controlled my own BP for a number of years (when I was 20-30) by not eating any salt, (I used lemon juice, pepper, other seasonings). This means prepared food is usually off the list.

Garlic is well known for helping with bp also. Try the no odor kinds.

Keeping your weight within normal range and exercise 30 min a day.

I do stress, however, that uncontrolled high blood pressure is extremely dangerous. Never, ever stop taking bp meds. They have a 'rebound' effect, and your bp will go higher than it was before if you suddenly stop taking them.

High bp is serious and it can kill you. People die from uncontrolled high bp every year. So if you cannot control it
thru alternative therapy, you must commit to taking a bp pill every day. Your doctor will help you find the one that is right for you.

It was hard for me, but as the years went on, it became my only recourse. No one likes to take a pill every day, but this is a disease you cannot ignore.

What happens when one has high blood pressure (and this is a simplistic definition) is the blood vessels act like ballons, they swell up when pressure is high, then they go down when pressure is low (in weak areas of the blood vessels). Like a balloon you blow up several times. Then comes the day that the blood vessel explodes. This is called an anuerysm. It is dangerous, and it can and does kill people every year.

I am not trying to scare you, I just want you to know how serious this situation is, and leave it to you to use common sense in taking charge of the situation.
Natural cures and home remedies for blood pressure are easily practiced and can make a tremendous difference in the future of a person's health as well as their quality of life. a healthy diet and exercise is always the best option to fight any illness. I remember a friend told me that pineapple juice also helps lower blood pressure, cholesterol and it's also good for the heart.

Another way to manage your blood pressure is eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice. Although, if you are already taking medication for blood pressure or any other medication for that matter, you should not eat or drink grapefruit. Check here: http://www.webmd.com/hypertension...e/grapefruit-juice-and-medication

I love grapefruit, though. It is also part of my weight loss program.

While a lot of the tips you've said are probably effective, it's still better to consult a doctor.
